Hiya,

Just to let you know, in London I have a Zen and yoga class starting on sundays at 3pm. It’s going to do all kinds of interesting and hightly transformational things that I’m pretty confident you couldn’t study anywhere else in Europe. It’s also going to be a lot of fun. The first one is going to be on sunday 9th December and we’re going to be celebrating the anniversary of the Buddha’s enlightenment probably with a fire ceremony and some wonderful practices that can start to awaken that sense of enlightenment potential within you. I have a wonderful place we can use – a club called SOS, 3 Hogarth Road, right accross the road from Earl’s Court Tube station. Cost is going to be £9 and you really don’t want to miss this stuff, we’re talking totally unique here.

See you there.

Cheers D

Fire Ceremony

Saturday, March 11th, 2006

Hiya, Hope all’s well. A quick message with some pics of a saito goma – an outdoor fire ceremony I was at recently. It was set up by yamabushi mountain ascetics with tiptoeing on hot coals for the foolhardy at the end. Looking forward to catching up soon.

Cheers Daizan

Celebrations and Thank yous

Friday, December 30th, 2005

Hiya,

Hope all’s very well with you and lot’s of comfort and joy all around you for the holiday season. Over here it’s very cold with lots of snow and no water ( the supply has frozen up) so life’s a little bit more complicated than usual (as I’m sure you can imagine) but on the upside, tomorrow we’re fitting the new tatami matting into the Buddha Hall – getting it back into action after extensive fixing up after the fire. It’s going to mean a lot to everyone, I think – our first milestone in getting things restored. New year in Japan is preceeded by a pretty comprehensive cleaning so going into 2006 with a brand spanking restored Buddha Hall is kind of appropriate. In getting to this point I have to thank you so much for all your help on so many levels. There’s still a huge amount to do but, nevertheless, it’s cause to celebrate.

Wishing you health, happiness and success on every level right through 2006 and looking forward to seeing you soon. Cheers Daizan
