"Zen in its essence is the art of seeing into the nature of one´s own being, and it points the way from bondage to freedom. By making us drink right from the fountain of life it liberates us from all the yokes under which we finite beings are usually suffering in this world." D.T. Suzuki

I’m a Yoga Teacher. how does this work combine with what I’ve currently learned?

This course is part of the extension of 200-hour yoga teacher training. Once you’ve added this extra hundred hours, you become eligible for a further 200-hour advanced yoga teacher training which takes you up to the 500-hour advanced yoga teacher level.

What Will I Study on the Course?

On the practical side, you’ll be learning tried and tested meditation techniques grounded in a two and a half thousand year tradition and subject to modern scientific testing. Not only will you be putting these techniques into practice yourself and learning how to communicate them. In addition you will learn how and why they have the effects they do. You will learn about meditation practices and teachings that foster health, well-being and vitality, as well as practices that lead to profoundly expanded consciousness.
The teachings are structured in a way that gives you two courses to offer your clients:

Meditation and Mindfulness for wellbeing – suitable for individuals and organizations that want a non-spiritual programme that provides stress-proofing, well-being and problem-solving.
Meditation and Mindfulness, the full course – suitable for those who wish to move beyond the well-being course into the higher realms of human potential whilst still keeping a grounded and energetic approach to life.

Both courses include both still meditation practices and mindfulness movement work.

Can you really learn to be a mindfulness and meditation teacher in a week?

You can learn to accurately pass on the teachings and practices in that time. I think of it like learning to drive a car. With intensive study, you can pass your driving test quite quickly. Many people feel that it’s once you’ve passed your test that you really learn to drive. Plan on your development as a meditation teacher taking the rest of your life and being gounded in your own practice.

Aren’t meditation teachers all monks?

Not at all. People come to it from all kinds of backgrounds, business, the arts, healthcare. In addition yoga teachers are often not fully confident in incorporating the inner dimension into their teaching. This course will fill that gap.
